Beef Tea
A delicious consommé
Ingredients
- 350g minced beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- Some parsley
- Seasoning (salt, pepper, nutmeg, ½ bay leaf)
Preparation
- One empty jar (e.g. a glass pickle or gherkin jar).
- Mix the minced beef with the vegetables and seasoning.
- Cover with water.
- Place the jar into a bain-marie.
- Preheat the oven to 180° C.
- Roast beef and vegetables for approx. 3 hours at 180° C.
Serving suggestion
- Strain the reduced consommé carefully through a sieve or towel.
- Serve in small cups or bowls.
- Sprinkle small pieces of chopped vegetables, such as carrots and celery, as a decorative and tasty topping.
- Another idea is to top the dish with raw strips of beef fillet.
