Beef Tea

A delicious consommé

Ingredients

  • 350g minced beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
  • Some parsley
  • Seasoning (salt, pepper, nutmeg, ½ bay leaf)

Preparation

  1. One empty jar (e.g. a glass pickle or gherkin jar).
  2. Mix the minced beef with the vegetables and seasoning.
  3. Cover with water.
  4. Place the jar into a bain-marie.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  6. Roast beef and vegetables for approx. 3 hours at 180° C.

Serving suggestion

  • Strain the reduced consommé carefully through a sieve or towel.
  • Serve in small cups or bowls.
  • Sprinkle small pieces of chopped vegetables, such as carrots and celery, as a decorative and tasty topping.
  • Another idea is to top the dish with raw strips of beef fillet.
