Green bean lamb stew

Lamb with fresh green beans, delicious, easy and reliable

Ingredients

  • 800-900g lamb goulash or stewing meat from the shoulder
  • 1kg small, fresh green beans
  • 600g pealed potatoes
  • Some fresh savory
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 3-4 shallots
  • 1 chilli
  • Some fresh parsley
  • Some butter
  • Spices
 

Preparation

  1. Add the lamb meat to the lamb stock once it has boiled with chopped shallots and some savory and cook slowly for 25-30 minutes. Test the meat to see whether it is cooked.
  2. About 15-20 minutes before the meat is soft (and the meat is only done once it is very soft), add the equally-sized beans and cubed potatoes.
  3. Add salt and pepper and some chopped garlic or garlic salt and taste.
  4. Add some grated potato to bond the dish or add potato purée as an alternative.

Serving suggestion

I like to serve this dish with a small block of butter and some freshly chopped parsley.
